NEW YORK, February 5, 2009
Humanscale’s V3 Wall Station has earned a 2008 International Design Award in the Medical Furniture category. The artists and entrepreneurs who created and judge iDA strive to recognize and celebrate visionary designers in architecture and interior, fashion, product, and graphic design. 2008 winners were selected from more than 1,000 applicants from 52 countries, and will be featured in the iDA Gallery and at a gala in Los Angeles in March.
The V3 Wall Station is a wall-mounted, track-based technology product for healthcare environments, designed to support a CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Teaming ergonomic comfort and safety with maximum space savings for easy computer access, the V3’s perfectly counterbalanced spring mechanism provides adjustments with less than a pound of force. And unlike traditional wall-mounted arms, which only allow repositioning from a fixed point, the V3’s smooth vertical track enables an unprecedented 51-inch total adjustment range to accommodate 99% of users in both sitting and standing positions.
The V3 offers sleek good looks and a contemporary color palette to complement any medical environment. The device also includes an integrated cable management system that spans the length of the track, and boasts 75% recycled and 95% recyclable content. The V3 will be available in the second quarter of 2009.
Previously, the V3 won a prestigious GOOD DESIGN award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and will be featured in the GOOD DESIGN show this June in Chicago. It was also recognized by Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year awards.
