Eames® Molded Plastic Chair with Dowel-leg Base

Eames® Molded Plastic Chair with Dowel-leg Base

The iconic Eames® Molded Plastic Chairs continue to be extremely popular since they debuted in 1951.  A landmark design from Charles and Ray Eames, these organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various base designs.  The next reintroduction to this line is the highly demanded wood dowel-leg base.  The wooden dowels bring a softer aesthetic to the chairs allowing them to play in a wider range of environments while the metal rods associate back to many other Eames designs.  Today’s chairs are true to the originals, with updated, eco-friendly materials. Herman Miller will officially offer this new base option in November.
